Livingston Engineering , a Professional Civil Engineering and Land Surveying firm located in Brighton, MI is currently seeking experienced candidates for several positions within our organization. Principal Senior Civil Engineer - We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Principal Senior Civil Engineer to lead complex engineering projects, mentor junior staff, and drive innovation in our engineering department. This is a high-level position with tremendous opportunity for the right individual. You will be responsible for the oversight, design, and approval process for residential, commercial, and automotive projects, including planning, entitlement services, site plan approval, and engineering design through construction. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee civil engineering projects from conception to completion.
  • Develop and review engineering designs, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Mentor and supervise junior engineers and technical staff.
  • Contribute to business development efforts and maintain client relationships.
  • Implement and maintain quality control processes.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Present at board meetings with community leaders and manage relationships with customers, businesses, and community leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Michigan or the ability to obtain one.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering, with at least 6 years in a senior or leadership role.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, Civil 3D, and other relevant engineering tools.
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and local/state regulations.
  • Excellent project management and leadership skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience with public infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage own projects with support and guidance accessible.

Survey CAD Technician/ Field Coordinator - Livingston Engineering has a position available for a person seeking to be a CAD Operator/Draftsperson/Field Coordinator with Civil Engineering and Land Surveying background. Applicant must be knowledgeable in land surveying, civil engineering and construction field and office operations. Experience with Autocad, Civil 3D software and Trimble Business Center or Carlson. Projects will include, but not be limited to, field crew coordination/set-up, model preparation, topographic surveys, boundary surveys, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, as-built drawings, etc. Compensation from $32-$38/ hr, depending on qualifications, with full benefits and growth potential

Sr. Survey Manager – Requires 5-10 years of progressive experience in the surveying industry and emerging technologies. Must be able to manage existing clients, staff and multiple survey crews with outstanding communication skills. PLS required or able to obtain such within 1 year. Salary and exceptional compensation package for the right individual with future ownership opportunities available

Sr. Project Manager – Requires 7-15 years of progressive experience in developing and implementing engineering concepts on private sector land development projects, while directing other staff members and communicating with our clients and jurisdictional agencies. PE registration required. Salary and exceptional compensation package for the right individual with future ownership opportunities available

Project Engineer - Requires 2-5 years of experience with basic civil engineering design and CAD drafting on projects with varying degrees of complexity. EIT preferred with the ability to obtain PE registration within 2 years. Exceptional compensation package available for highly qualified candidates

Survey Crew Chief - Livingston Engineering, has openings for experienced field crew chiefs with a minimum of 2 years' of experience in construction staking, topographic design surveys and boundary surveys. Experience with Trimble survey controllers, GPS, robotic total stations, and AutoCad is highly desired. Must have valid drivers license, show up on time, pass a drug test, and complete safety training.

Survey Crew Member - Livingston Engineering has openings available for survey crew members with little or no experience, to work as a team member to crew chief. This is an entry level technician position, performing a variety of land surveying assignments while learning the methods and techniques of a survey crew. The employee, while in a learning capacity, does crew support activities.  These activities include, but are not limited to: setting stakes and irons, setting up tripods over control points, placing safety signs and cones, setting benchmarks, brushing line, maintaining vehicles, running level rod and proper chaining techniques. Must show up on time.
 

CAD Technician - Livingston Engineering has a position available for persons seeking to be CAD Operator/Draftsperson for Civil Engineering and Land Surveying firm. Applicant must be knowledgeable in land surveying, civil engineering or construction. Experience with Autocad software beneficial, experience with Land Desktop Companion or Civil 3D 2019. Projects will include, but not be limited to, topographic surveys, boundary surveys, ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys, as-built drawings, etc.
